About Us

Started in 1912, The Music Study Club of the Stroudsburgs is an organization in the Pocono area of northeastern Pennsylvania established for several purposes:

  * Promote a knowledge of and appreciation
    for good music among the members;
  * Extend such influence in the homes,
    schools and churches of the community;
  * Encourage American music and musicians;
  * Provide opportunities for young people and
    adults to develop musical skills.

Our club is a non-profit local chapter affiliated with the Pennsylvania and National Federation of Music Clubs. Through the NFMC, we are able to provide opportunity to earn many awards.

We offer two scholarships each year, one to a local graduating high school senior who will major or have a focus in music in college and the other to a student in seventh to twelfth grade who plans to attend a summer music camp.

We have celebrated many milestones along the years, from starting a scholarship fund in 1974 to having a centennial celebration concert at the Cecilia Cohen Recital Hall of East Stroudsburg University.

Many music teachers are a member of our club. Please feel free to visit our teacher page if you are looking for a local music teacher.

The public is welcome to join in our programs.  We hold exciting events throughout the year within the local community.  Visit the Events page for further information.
